THE club was pleased to see president Isabella Price back on the job again, although she is not fully recovered yet. Her little gifts of baking were missing for, she says, she has been told that the letter she had received was a “mistake” by a member of the council staff. She will take the matter further, she says.
A sad report was received of the death of Clarry Misson, a well-respected member. All stood for a minute’s silence in his memory.
Sick members were reported as follows – Berrill Elston, Wilma Clark, Monica Miller, Nora Todd and Ann Burrows. The hospital list was said to include Win Robinson, Josephine Hauroro and Julliette Carrick. At the meeting, the door prizes went to Ella Matheson and Stan Clayton.
Ella Matheson then proceeded to collect the meat tray and the voucher prize. At the bingo which followed, the games went as follows: 1) Diane Kimmitt and Ian Wollerman; 2) Elsie Smith; 3, Beryl Newman and Hilda Boening; 4) Alice Haynes and Ian Wollerman; 5) Diane Kimmitt and Elsie Smith; 6) Alice Haynes; 7) Erika Albert; 8) Ian Wollerman; 9) Ian Wollerman; 10) Hilda Boening. The club believes the stewards are considering an inquiry!
