ANOTHER light yarding this Wednesday at Baw Baw Livestock Exchange saw prices vary across categories.
Eighteen bullocks were offered and ranged from a low of 150 cents to top at 182, to register a six-cent increase on average.
Heifers slipped this week with heavy heifers making from 120 cents to 192.2 and light 120 cents to 121.3, heifers this week lost seven cents on average.
Steers yarded all weighed in above 300 kilograms, and not only rose in numbers but managed to rise eight cents on average, with a range of 142 to 188 cents.
Vealers of light to moderate condition eased nine cents on average, with heavy vealers making from 129.2 to 225 cents, while light vealers made from 120 to 220.
On Thursday heavy cows sold to similar demand and price, while lighter turn out cows tended to rise lightly in price. Heavy cows sold from 35 cents to 151.2 and light sub-300kg cows from 90 cents to 124.6. The average for cows was 123.3, up one cent.
Bulls ranged from 120 to 172 cents and managed a rise of two cents to 154.2.
On Monday 690 calves were penned for the weekly calf market. All sold to strong demand with Friesian bull calves selling to $65, while heifer calves sold to $250.
Beef calves also sold strongly with a range of $40 to $150 per head.
