Right: Beaconhills junior students from thePakenham campus Renae Joiner, Chelsea Davey and Montana Carricondo get into the groove.BEACONHILLS junior students got an insight into the sounds of Africa when they attended an incursion by Alena, Buba and Shabba from the Centre for West African Drumming and Culture.
Students were entertained by a 45-minute performance of interactive drumming, dance and singing and then completed an interactive drumming workshop in the afternoon to develop their understanding and skills of African music.
The experience was a timely one with as students prepared for their musical performance of Nagwaja, an African fable, which was performed on Thursday 10 September.
