A DRIVER’S only excuse after police clocked him driving at almost 100km/h above the speed limit was that he wanted to catch up with a friend.
Police impounded the 23-year-old’s car for 48 hours after he was caught driving at 197km/h in a 100km/h zone on the South Gippsland Highway, Lang Lang, about 10.35pm on Friday 18 September.
The man faces charges including speeding and driving at a dangerous speed.
