Berwick Senior Citizens Club president Isabella Price was away from the meeting on Friday so vice-president Norma James presided.
Members united in sending best wishes to Isabella who was on her way for a visit to friends in the United Kingdom.
At the meeting Happy Birthday was sung to Thelma Orovak.
Sick members were reported to be Gladys Oberg, Anne Burrows and Beryl Newman. The door prizes went to Ian Wollerman and the Murphy Syndicate.
Audrey Appleyard won the meat tray, Erika Albert was winner of the voucher, while Berrill Elston and the Murphy Syndicate shared the raffle.
In the bingo which followed, the prizes went to Norma Fournier (twice), Lorna Bird (twice), Wilma Clark and Elizabeth Sturgeon, Wilma Clark (twice more), Josephine Hauroro, Ron Giles and Elizabeth Sturgeon (again).
It was announced that next weekend the hall would house the annual orchid show.
The public has the opportunity to see some splendid examples of these blooms, at a nominal fee.
