Sparkling day for exfire chief

FORMER Tynong fire brigade captain and City of Berwick superintendent of works Keith Nilsson and wife Ina recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
The couple, who now live in Port Macquarie, marked the occasion with family and friends at the Holbrook Settlers Motel in Holbrook, New South Wales.
Ina and Keith both celebrated their 80th birthdays this year.
Keith was well known in the district having served for many years as a volunteer with the Tynong fire brigade.
He retired from the City of Berwick after more than 30 years’ service.
The couple were married at the Presbyterian Church in Springvale on 6 October, 1945.
They have four children who all attended their parents’ diamond anniversary celebration.
Terry travelled down from Sydney with family friends Hendra and Widiani Darmali.
Norma and Ian, who own the Settlers Motel, their son Chris and his wife Kathy and their two daughters who also live in Holbrook were also present.
Lyall and his wife Pauline with their daughter Ebony who travelled from Ballarat attended while Ray travelled from Melbourne with family friends Elva Hamill (Tynong), Kevin Wheeler (Hampton) and Keith’s neice, Mary White (Garfield).
Other guests were Mr and Mrs Jack Knights (Tynong), Mr and Mrs Lindsay Knights (Longwarry) and Mr and Mrs Charles Lansdown (Cardinia).
The couple received congratulatory letters from the Queen, Governor General, Prime Minister, Governor of New South Wales, NSW Premier and local Federal and State MPs.
