Future water park

THE Harkaway quarry as a future water park – what a great asset for all of Casey.
And another Harkaway gem!
When rock mining ceases this month and water is not regularly pumped out a huge quantity of high quality pure artesian ground water will fill up the giant open cut hole.
It will become a gigantic wide and deep water lake that could soon become a great water park.
Casey Council needs to get out and ‘dust off’ the City of Berwick file on this!
When the quarry got its mining permit there was an agreement made on the use of the quarried out hole when rock mining came to its end.
Casey ratepayers are soon about to receive a very valuable asset.
Water is so precious now that Casey will be able to put this wonderful ‘God-given’ gift of a huge amount of water to great uses!
For example, water could be sold, and Casey make a lot of money to offset its unplanned huge debt in garbage disposal.
Also sports clubs could contract to buy water for greening their sports fields.
The present quarry could become a great water recreation park.
But all Casey councillors need to take an immediate interest in all this and become City councillors and stop being ward councillors only.
Also the quarry could be announced by the CFA as a 2009/10 fire refuge called “safer neighbourhood place”.
