Champs to the fore

STEVE Murray and Joe Marsiglio are the Beaconhills Country Golf Club foresomes champions for 2005 after winning the final on the Lakes course on Saturday, 22 October.
Joe and Steve finished with gross 153.
Nett winners were Wally O’Hara and club president Doug Eastick, who scored a nett 138 over the two rounds.
Winners of the daily foursomes competition were Noel Pye and Paul Jones with nett 67.5.
The rest of the field played Stableford on the Old course, where Stuart Mills won A grade with 46 points, Phil Gellie won B grade with 43 points and C grade was won by 14yearold Nick Sapet with 46 points.

This was a Stableford competition on the Old course.
Geoff Styles won A grade with 41 points and B grade was won by Matt Coates with 45 points. Matt Coates was also the spring cup winner.

Stableford was the competition of the day on the Lakes course.
Scores once again were in the 40s with Bob Gordon winning A grade, scoring 43 points and B grade went to Brett Casey with 42 points.

Wednesday was a Stroke event for the ladies where the season’s monthly medal winners vied to win the medal of medallists.
Sharon Taylor emerged victorious, continuing her fine form to score 93/67 to runnersup Elaine Newman with a nett 69 and Phyllis Woods with a nett 70.
Heather Hamilton won the competition of the day with 95/65. Amazingly, both Sharon and Heather’s scores included a hole where they scored a 10.
Nearestthepin winners were Nicki Charman on the third and Bev Eckhardt on the 18th.
Propin winners were Sharon Taylor for A grade and Heather Hamilton for B grade.

This was a Par competition on the Lakes course.
Ashley Graham was the Agrade winner with +4 and two nearest the pins and B grade was won by Graham H. Martin with +7.
