A SUPREME sevenwicket haul by Cardinia Agrade’s Dwayne Doig had the Devon Meadows bats reeling in his first game for the season on Saturday.
Conceding only 39 runs in his 18.2 destructive overs, he was well supported by John Grogan with 2/58.
Playing at Junction Village, captain Cameron Knight won the toss and elected to bowl.
The first wicket fell in the 18th over when Doig took the wicket of Cooper.
After the initial struggle to break through, wickets fell at a steady rate with O’Brien, Canavan and Louden all being dismissed cheaply. Daniel Steet and Danny Diwell were the only batsmen to show any resistance against the Doig machine.
Chris Remy 0/18 off 12 also bowled well and Luke Turner was again exceptional behind the stumps.
The rampaging Bulls bowled the Panthers out in the 52nd over for 121.
With 23 overs of play remaining, the Bulls lost both openers in quick succession.
Both Yohan LaBrooy (4) and John Nooy (2) falling to Canavan and the Bulls were reeling at 2/8.
Steve Paterson 12 not out and Troy DaRose, not out, then steadied the ship, putting on 32 before the close of play.

Against top side KilcundaBass, Cardinia won the toss and opted to bat and were in trouble early, being 4/26. Brodie Glen showed his willingness to value his wicket, however he was dismissed by one of the best slips catches seen in the WGCA.
A good partnership of 15 between Brad Goodman and Daniel Strahan steadied the ship somewhat, before the former departed for nine.
Ryan DeReus and Strahan then put on the biggest partnership of the day with 72.
The latter then departed for an excellent 42 and this triggered a collapse, DeReus next for a wellcompiled 36.
After the Bulls were 6/113 they were very quickly bowled out for 126.
With six overs of play, Adam Hobson, Chris Lemmon and Jamie Smetham all bowled, with only one run off the bowling of Hobson.

Cardinia played Devon Meadows at Hobson Oval and although this was the Panthers’ home game, the Bulls held a slight homeground advantage.
The young side was asked to bat and did so, scoring at a blistering rate.
Significant contributions came from Cam Haynes (44), Ricky Campbell (36), Todd Mory (29) and Dylan Mitchell 22 not out.
This was a great effort from the latter three in particular, Mitchell only 15 and Campbell 16. Mory played a pivotal role in this match, only the second of his career.
The Bulls were bowled out for 180 in the 49th over.
Only 12 overs were bowled before bad light ended proceedings.
Devon Meadows are 2/27. Captain Wayne Snooks took 1/13 and Ricky Campbell 1/2.

After setting the Cougars 202 for victory last week the Bulls were confident of victory.
Disciplined bowling saw wickets fall consistently Clyde being all out for 110.
Tim Jeffery picked up three wickets, as did Daniel Glen.
Last weeks’ hero Daniel Kitchin chipped in with two and Evan Webster and Jack Cole both took singles.
It was a good win for the Bulls.

After being bundled out for 29 last week and having already lost, the young Bulls tried hard but to no avail.
Catani batted on and made 108 from its allotted overs.
All players were given the opportunity to bowl with Elijah Wade doing the best, taking 2/1. Bradey Welsh, Travis Welsh, Pat Nolen, Jeremy Monckton all took wickets.
Having another bat, the Bulls were 4/34 at the close of play. Bradey Welsh made 14 not out to be top scorer.
