PEOPLE, clothes, food and decor were all pretty in pink at St John of God Hospital, Berwick’s Bosom Buddies courtyard breakfast held on Thursday, 27 October.
Bosom Buddies is a group of breast cancer survivors who meet to support each other, socialise, and generally enjoy themselves.
The breakfast was based on the National Breast Cancer Foundation tradition of holding pink breakfasts.
The pink breakfasts are held to raise funds for breast cancer research.
A hospital spokesperson said pink was chosen because it represented happiness and joy and because psychologists believe it evokes happy responses in people exposed to it.
More than 25 people attended the breakfast in the hospital courtyard.
St John of God Hospital, Berwick, breast cancer nurses Kathy Irvine and Jane Bieniak and midwife Joyce Coyle who is also a breast cancer survivor organised the breakfast.
Businesses, including restaurants Ambrosia and Cafe Driftwood, the Wombat Gully Nursery, Amcal Pharmacy and the IGA Supermarket, donated prizes for the raffle.
