DROUIN continued its good start in A grade division one with a strong win over Yarragon.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:A (1) GRADE

Chasing 184 for victory, Yarragon found the going tough against quality Drouin bowling, Nick Mazza topscored with 20 while several other batsmen got starts but were unable to go on. Yarragon was dismissed for 122.
Clinton Proctor bowled brilliantly, bagging 4/19 off 13.2 superb overs, and he was well supported by Daniel Butler, who claimed 4/40.
Hallora overwhelmed Ellinbank, comfortably defeating the newly promoted side. Chasing 253 for victory, Ellinbank was dismissed for 124.
Western Park found muchneeded form in its victory over defending champion Buln Buln, while Warragul was led to a great win over Trafalgar by a brilliant unbeaten 112 from skipper Craig Black.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:A (2) GRADE

Bunyip sneaked home after a disastrous start in which it was left reeling against Drouin.
At one stage Bunyip was reduced to 3/8 in pursuit of Drouin’s 116, but fought back thanks to intelligent batting from youngster Michael Whyte who scored a crucial 38 of the side’s total of 131.
Garfield demolished Neerim District after last week setting a massive total of 297 and bowling their opponent out for just 76.
Joel Ferguson was sensational with the ball for Garfield, bagging 6/31 off 18.1 overs, while Bernie Marson bowled immaculately, claiming 4/17 off 15 overs.
Longwarry made it three wins from three matches after knocking over Western Park.
Chasing 160, Longwarry finished the day at 9/204, Luke Serong making a fine 66.
In the last game Iona looked to be finding some form in a strong victory over Jindivick.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:B (1) GRADE

Steve Green led Yarragon to victory in its match against Drouin, scoring 76 intelligently under enormous pressure.
Yarragon chased 149 and finished the day on 157, Green being last wicket to fall.
Ellinbank continued to struggle after it was routed by Hallora.
Chasing 257 for victory, Ellinbank was bowled out for 79 but did better in its second innings, finishing the day 7/219.
Longwarry defeated Buln Buln thanks to bighitting openers Alan Prout (78) and Warren Darcy (40).
Longwarry declared at 9/177 and then chased an outright victory, but Buln Buln batted out the day, finishing 6/89.
Trafalgar grabbed its first win of the season against Warragul.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:B (2) GRADE

Warragul moved into the top four with a good win over Bunyip. Warragul was led to victory by great batting from Ray Watkins (58) and J. Hogan (48).
Dane Roy was the best of those bowlers, snaring 4/46, and skipper Justin Stirling bowled well to claim 3/35.
Garfield recorded its first win of the season, defeating Neerim District.
Neerim was chasing 256 for victory and put up a good fight, scoring 202.
Longwarry moved to top spot on the table with a strong victory over Western Park.
Ben Majcherzak was in great touch, belting sensationally belting 93, which included seven boundaries and four sixes.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:C GRADE

An excellent opening stand between Mick Wardle (88) and Bruce McGillvray (86) led Drouin Maroon to a stunning victory over Neerim District.
Requiring 163 for victory, the opening pair set about reaching the target, Drouin Maroon finished the day 5/282.
Iona batsman Mick Jusic stunned Longwarry and led Iona to its second win of the season with a magnificent 142 in just 25 overs.
Iona chased 217 for victory and finished the day 8/305.
Yarragon recorded a sensational victory over rival Trafalgar, while Buln Buln recorded an outright victory over Ellinbank and Hallora defeated Drouin Gold outright.
