Get fit for new year

CARDINIA LiFE YMCA is excited the Cardinia community now has more support in achieving their health and wellness New Year’s resolutions in 2011, with the establishment of the Australian National Preventive Health Agency.
The agency, ironically formed on January 1, 2011, is the new national body set up to improve the health of Australians.
Cardinia LiFE manager Wade Mackrell said that the centre had been busy since the start of 2011, with community members eager to begin exercise programs, in a bid to start the new year afresh and reach health and fitness goals.
“It’s great to see both new and familiar faces coming in, motivated to make healthy changes to their life,” he said.
People who join as members of the centre will receive a saving of 50 per cent on the start-up fee, if they sign up by Monday, 28 February, 2011.
Existing members can also benefit, with a bonus four weeks on their membership if they refer family and friends to join as members by February 28.
“A priority of Cardinia LiFE is to help all people in the community achieve their health and fitness goals. We’re happy that we can offer these membership incentives, making it easier for people to get started,” said Mr Mackrell.
