No stresses on tresses

TO SHAVE or save?
Bunyip resident, Amy Lea is taking part in the Leukaemia Foundation World’s Greatest Shave but the decision is up to the general public.
“I’m taking donations for shaving and taking donations for saving and it’s up to the general public which way they want it to go,” she said.
If Amy gets more money to save her hair, she will colour it instead – otherwise, it will all come off.
Amy is hoping to raise $5000 for the Leukaemia Foundation in memory of her friend Mackenzie, who was five years old when he died from leukaemia.
“Mack’s family really didn’t want me to shave my head so out of respect for them I’m doing it this way,” Amy said.
“But I still wanted to raise money.”
Amy is also leaving the decision of what colour up to Mack’s twin brother Levi.
“At the moment he likes rainbows but I am hoping it will change before the day!”
Not doing it by halves, Amy’s hair colour would be permanent.
Amy said both shaving and colouring her hair was ‘really scary’ because it was so long and curly.
“Because my hair is so long, all the children around call me Aunty Woolly,” she said.
She will be taking donations online and in person until 9 March and the big day will be 10 March.
If making donations online, visit my.leukaemiafoundation.org.au/amyfriz, and then write on the wall either save or shave.
