In the mix

PAKENHAM Racing Club major partner Schweppes is mixing a winning combination on Pakenham Telstra Store Cup Day, launching its Schweppes Mixology Marquee.
The cocktail-lounge marquee set-up will be coming to Pakenham for the Sunday 6 March race meeting and will boast a Schweppes Mixologist to mix, shake and stir some exciting new cocktails from the Schweppes mixer range.
The new marquee announcement comes as the soft drink company draws to a close its Schweppes Alchemist competition where drink mixing enthusiasts can create their own signature cocktail at an online bar and go into the draw to win a $70,000 trip to some of the best bars in the world.
Pakenham Racing Club sales and events manager Anthony Millican said the marquee was a never-seen-before addition to the club’s hospitality.
“The whole package is new,” said Mr Millican.
“The concept is to showcase these fantastic cocktails that can be made with Schweppes drinks, and everything has been built around this.”
Marquee tickets cost $110 each and include entry into Cup Day and the Schweppes Mixology Marquee, a racebook, gourmet fingerfood throughout the day and five-hour hospitality package with a selection of Schweppes cocktails to try. A Schweppes Mixologist will be in the marquee during the day to mix up some delicious drinks.
Dress regulations for the Schweppes Mixology Marquee are a step up from the average marquee also, with a strict racewear code enforced.
Schweppes has been a long-serving sponsor of Cup Day, and is a major partner of the racing industry in Australia.
