THE dog squad and police air wing trawled local schools and parks to find an elderly Pakenham man on Friday evening.
Senior Sergeant Gerry Hengel from Pakenham police station said police were concerned for the man, who suffered health issues, when he was reported missing about 7pm on Friday 10 June.
Leading Senior Constable Hayden Bodycombe from the dog squad found the man asleep under a bush near the council offices about 10pm.
Sen Sgt Hengel said it was imperative the man was located quickly due to health concerns and the cold weather.
“It was an excellent result for all police members on the night,” Sen Sgt Hengel said.
The Traffic Management Unit was also involved in the search.
