Council probes emails

CITY OF Casey Council has ordered an investigation into the content of an email that Four Oaks Ward councillor Roland Abraham submitted to the council.
Cr Abraham submitted the email sent from Ballarat University to support a claim for reimbursement of costs for a $3600 university course.
Discussion went in camera where the committee disallowed Cr Abraham’s claim. The in camera committee also adopted two further motions: “That the chief executive be authorised to undertake an investigation of the council’s information technology system to review emails to and from Sarah Boswell to Cr Abraham on 17 June 2005.
“That legal advice be sought as to whether there has been a breach of any law in this matter given the email submitted to the chief executive was submitted in support of obtaining reimbursement of fees.”
