ON A sunny but windy day last Saturday Pakenham Golf Club’s September monthly medal was taken out by C Grade’s Alex McCrae with a brilliant 64 nett.
Mark Hatton won A Grade and Sean Constable, who also had a nett 64, might have lost the medal on countback but won B Grade in convincing style.
Alex picked the right day to play well by taking home the super comp as well, again relegating Sean to runner-up with Wayne Caffyn finishing in third place. Nearest the pins were Scott Irwin (second), Dave Nagel (fifth), Brian Webster (eighth), Jeremy Derix (14th) and Murray O’Dwyer (16th). Nearest second shots went to Kevin Booker (second), M. Hildebrand (sixth), Matthew Lloyd (11th) and Bret Mottrom (17th).
Longest drives this week were Mark Hatton in A Grade, Ray Coutts in B Grade and Martin Farrands in C Grade. Balls down the line went to 72 nett on a countback. Next week will be par.
