ADVICE on what to do this bushfire season will be mailed to residents in Cardinia Shire and the City of Casey.
CFA Township Protection Plans (TPPs) have been sent to residents in Cockatoo, Gembrook, Maryknoll, Pakenham Upper and Upper Beaconsfield.
The TPPs are community guides with township-specific information including bushfire planning and advice, community maps, key contacts and local risks.
The CFA is urging residents to read the information carefully.
Residents in Cannons Creek, Warneet, Blind Bight and Harkaway have also been sent a TPP.
CFA Southern Metropolitan Region TPP co-ordinator Phillip Craig said the guides were developed in consultation with communities, councils and CFA brigades.
“Communities have identified specific local risks, unique to them, which have been highlighted and addressed in the plan.
“Residents and visitors can use the TPP to ensure they are prepared in the event of a fire,” he said.
The CFA expects an increased threat from grassfires this summer due to heavy rain, strong growth and consequent increased fuel load.
TPPs are also available from the CFA website www.cfa.vic.gov.au.
