IT was a celebration of the past and present at Bayles Regional Primary School last week, at the opening of its new classrooms.
Following the official opening by Member for La Trobe Laura Smyth, guests were invited to tour the building, which exhibited the school’s history.
The memorabilia was collected since the school’s opening in the 1920s.
Also in attendance at the ceremony were, outgoing Cardinia Shire Mayor George Blenkhorn and past principals Brian Wright and Nicole Bottriell.
A special cake was designed by Suzanne Ashby to commemorate the occasion, and the school choir and dance groups performed.
The new open learning classrooms were funded under the Federal Government’s Building the Education Revolution (BER) program.
