PERHAPS it is because I am a cricketer from way back, but I feel excited about the Twenty20 cricket match to be played at Berwick on Tuesday, 13 December.
The game between Casey South Melbourne and Dandenong will be played at Arch Brown Reserve, Buchanan Road, starting at 5pm.
This is a curtain raiser for Casey South Melbourne Cricket Club action at Casey Fields, Cranbourne, and the start of firstclass cricket action in the southeast. This is good for cricket.
Casey mayor Kevin Bradford has invited families to attend the match.
This is a great chance for our youngsters to see talented players such as Steve Spoljaric, Troy Ryan, Dave Newman, Petter Siddle, Warren Ayres and Kumar Sarna.
Past cricket champions, including former Australian Test captain Graham Yallop, Mick Taylor and Damien Fleming, will also be involved in the evening’s cricket.
Oh, so appealing!
