ANTIQUE furniture and a boat were stolen from an unoccupied house in Catani, just before it was destroyed in a fire.
Police are investigating an arson attack, burglary and theft at the house in Caldermeade Road which was burnt to the ground in the early hours of Sunday, 24 July.
Pakenham Criminal Investigation Unit Sergeant Paul Bruders said police had found out that several antiques were stolen from the premises before the house was set alight.
A boat was also stolen from the property, which was part of a deceased estate, and the following night a homemade caravan was taken.
“These items include a Singer sewing machine, an antique telephone and several antique dressers,” Sgt Bruders said.

The caravan is built on a 5ft by 8ft trailer and has a rounded shape with a door at the back.
