Access for less able

Access For All Abilities will be coming Pakenham, a program which will give opportunities to sporting clubs to promote their profile and embrace the sporting opportunities for those less able.
The community-based initiative aims to encourage and support clubs in developing inclusive sport and recreational opportunities for people over all abilities throughout the Shire.
A workshop entitled ‘Effective communication in sporting clubs,’ will be held at the Pakenham Regional Tennis Centre on Wednesday 25 July from 7-9pm.
It will offer sporting clubs the opportunity to learn how to attract and retain people with a disability, obtain information and support with applications, acquire disability awareness training for coaches, officials and volunteers, and develop ways to promote programs and opportunities.
The program also provides an important opportunity to increase memberships and participation and contribute to the liveability and general health of the shire.
To register for the workshop or for further information, contact council’s Access for All Abilities officer on 1300 787 624.
