AN assault in Pakenham last week has resulted in police urging people not to take policing matters into their own hands.
A 14yearold boy was playing tag with a friend in the park at Waterford Rise at 7.30pm on Thursday 2 February.
The boy was approached by an unknown offender, who assaulted him with a golf club.
The teenager received minor lacerations and bruising to his back and was taken to his local doctor.
Pakenham Detective Sergeant Phil Jury said the offender accused the boy of being a bully.
“Even if he was a bully, this is a totally unacceptable reaction,” Det Sgt Jury said.
Any witnesses are asked to contact Senior Constable Bianca Szucs at Pakenham Police on 5941 1033.
