Course could save a life

CLUBS and community organisations have been asked to send representatives to a City of Casey first aid program.
The council will conduct a free first aid training session for cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on Thursday 15 September.
Casey mayor Neil Lucas said cardiac arrest was the most common cause of death in Australia.
He said Ambulance Victoria was building awareness and confidence in older residents to use CPR through fun group learning at clubs and community houses.
“Evidence is showing that many people over 50 are not attending formal first aid or CPR training courses, and therefore do not have this life skill,” he said.
The Four Steps for Life program will be held at Cranbourne Community House, 49 Valepark Crescent, Cranbourne.
Sessions are from 13pm and 79pm.
Entry is free and a Four Steps for Life kit will be provided to representatives of community groups/clubs.
Limited transport is available on request.
Bookings are essential on 5996 2941.
