Premier to open show

PREMIER Steve Bracks is expected to officially open the Berwick Show just before the grand parade on Saturday, 25 February.
Show president Andrew Dedlefs said Gembrook MP Tammy Lobato had confirmed Mr Bracks would be available to open the show.
Berwick Show is one of the top community events in the district and features the biggest cattle show in Victoria outside the Royal Melbourne Show.
Berwick also has one of the biggest Victorian horse shows.
The two-day show highlights the unique diversity of the area by promoting the rural aspects and educating and enhancing many lives.
Livestock on display will include alpacas, goats, dogs, rabbits, ferrets, cavies, rats and mice. The show also has a large poultry and horticulture section.
This year the show will have use of the new million-dollar Akoonah Park pavilion set along the southern end of the main arena.
Berwick Show brings the country to the city with its animal nursery, wood chopping, goat milking, sheep and alpaca shearing, wool spinning, blacksmith, snakes, and Country Fire Authority trucks.
Carnival rides, side shows, show bags, live bands, modern dancing, highland dancing, show jumping, a grand parade, beaut utes, and fireworks all help to create a fun filled bumper presentation.
