GIPPSLAND Storm State League Netball Club became senior division premier in the Parkville competition at the State Netball and Hockey Centre at Royal Park.
This senior squad, coached by Kim Archdall, finished top of the ladder at the end of the Parkville season and came up against Palladians in the final.
In the first quarter Storm started strongly with goal shooter Kara Geraeds hitting all her shots, ably supported by attacking players Meagan Atkins and Amanda McLellan.
Storm finished the quarter six goals up and maintained their lead in the second quarter.
In the third quarter Palladians came back, cutting the margin to four goals.
But Storm defenders Kylie Clark, Kate McCowan and Michelle Hyndman were strong and well coordinated throughout, helping Storm to maintain its lead.
In final quarter Kim Archdall came on as goal shooter to steady the side and the Storm won 3023.
This was the first grand final win for many players since they have played with Storm and was a great way to finish the autumn season.
Gippsland Storm’s presentation night will be held on Friday night, 26 August, at Melaleuca Lodge, Princes Highway, Beaconsfield.
