Robbery charges laid

A PAKENHAM man was among seven people charged last week over a spate of armed robberies in and around Monash University.
The 32yearold man was charged with six offences including the possession of a handgun, handling stolen goods and possessing prohibited or controlled weapons.
He was bailed to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court in June.
The robberies took place between 10 and 19 March around Monash University at Clayton, Victoria Police said.
Police raided homes in the region last Monday, seizing weapons including a loaded pen pistol, samurai swords and machetes.
Three other men, aged 17, 18, and 19, were charged with a string of offences including armed robbery, criminal damage, assault, firearms and the possession of weapons and remanded in custody.
Two 16yearold girls were charged with similar offences and released on bail to appear in Dandenong Children’s Court in April.
Another 18yearold man was charged with assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, handling stolen goods and possessing a drug of dependence and bailed to appear in the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court in May.
