More than 100 people attended the charter night and charity auction, which raised more than $3500.
CCRC secretary Melanie Evans said the money would provide the club with a strong basis for its community work.
She was delighted with the club’s success and said the universe as we knew it was about to change and would never be the same again.
Ms Evans said the beckoning of a new era in Rotary had arrived, where young members of the community would pave the way of the future.
The club is now listed with Rotary International, and is the only Rotaract club listed in District 9820, which takes in all between Dandenong and Orbost.
Ms Evans said Rotaract was a combination between Rotarian values and ideals and a youth group.
“Rotaract members are aged between 18 and 30, with some allowance made for the occasional older or young member,” she said.
“With that in mind the club spends time attending communitybased activities, such as the recent Relay For Life to support and assist fundraising for the Anti Cancer Council, where club members walked for the Dandenong Rotary team between midnight and 6am.
“Other recent community activities worthy of note include car parking with Berwick Rotary Club at the Berwick Show and attending the Wave of Hope in Wyndham to support a fellow Rotaract club’s attempt of the longest Mexican wave.
“This was a fundraiser for tsunami victims in Asia.”
Ms Evans said the Rotaract club also had an active social side.
“Some highlights are trips to the snow, trips to the beach for anything from swimming to water skiing, occasional fourwheel driving adventurers, mini golf, bowling, indoor archery and dining out on the town,” she said.
Ms Evans said the club was open to new members or community projects looking for assistance from strong, ablebodied young people.
