TRIPLET Insurance Services has won the naming rights to the 2006 Warragul Cup trots race, to be held on Easter Sunday.
The raffle draw took place on radio 3GG last Monday morning. Company director Barry Thompson has been a keen supporter of harness racing for some 20 years, as a horse owner and sponsor.
Thompson owns eight horses in partnership with friends and has mostly raced horses with the strong Cranbourne training partnership of Noel Alexander and Jayne Davies.
Some of the successful horses he has partowned include Boris Reigns, Copper Classic and Getting It Right and smart youngster Master Harley.
As the winner of the draw, Thompson receives naming rights to the $25,000 event as well as promotions and hospitality for his staff and clients at the meeting.
Sales of raffle tickets exceeded last year and the Warragul Harness Racing Club is confident the attendance figure for the meeting will also increase.
