A SCHOLARSHIP dinner at the Pakenham Football Club turned into a memorable night for all the wrong reasons when the car Andrew Wood borrowed for the event was vandalised.
Mr Wood, 25, was invited to give a speech at the P.B Ronald Memorial Trust Scholarship Dinner held last Wednesday to explain how winning the 2005 scholarship helped him with his study expenses.
But the pleasant mood of the night was soured when five large key marks were discovered on the car the next morning.
“It was such a happy, enjoyable night and then I noticed the scratches and it really put a dampener on the whole evening,” he said.
The agricultural science student had borrowed his sister’s car and was upset after the intentional damage, as well as the cost of repairing the vehicle.
“It was just a nasty act that will probably end up costing about $1000 to repair”, he said.
