Young Kangas win semi

OFFICER Kangaroos under 13s defeated Cranbourne in a windy semifinal at Fountain Gate on Sunday.
After losing the toss, the Kangaroos kicked into a gale in the first quarter. Under pressure, the back line defended strongly with Daniel Ellett, Rick Marson and Nathan Fry and Michael White playing well. The Kangaroos were getting good run through the centre, Blake Gilbert, Jackson Fromhold and James Canty all winning possessions. Matt Rogers snapped a great goal.

In the third quarter Cranbourne kicked the first goal but the Kangaroos played the defensive side of the ground and restricted Cranbourne’s opportunities. Officer started the last quarter with a twogoal lead.
Cam Abbott and Mark Vandenacker were marking well in the conditions and, after having the majority of the play and kicking a succession of points, the Kangaroos finally scored goals through Michael White and Ben O’Loughlin.
Scores: Officer Kangaroos 5.11.41 d Cranbourne 1.3.9. Best: Matt Rogers, Mark Vandenacker, Jackson Fromhold, Cam Abbott, Ben O’Loughlin, Nathan Fry. Goals: Xavier Quigley 2, Matt Rogers, Michael White, Ben O’Loughlin 1.
