Customer threatens assistant

A CUSTOMER threatened to kill a 19yearold Coles Pakenham supermarket assistant when she refused to sell him cigarettes.
The man, aged in his early 20s, was denied cigarettes at the service counter when he failed to produce identification. After he produced ID a second time he was served.
The incident occurred at 6.20pm and as the man was leaving he said to the assistant that he was “going to kill her”.
The Coles employee was shaken by the experience but returned to work the next day.
Coles manager Paul Klimatsakis said it was an isolated incident and measures had been taken to ensure the safety of all employees.
He said that staff were concerned enough to call police on the night and Coles have volunteered further security to the individual involved.
Police describe the man as being of Caucasian appearance, 6ft tall, medium build with short brown scruffy hair.
He had distinctive lettering tattooed on his right arm and wore blue jeans and a black jumper.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Pakenham CIB on 5941 1033.
