CASEY mayor Kevin Bradford has congratulated Monash University Berwick Campus on its 10th anniversary celebration held last month.
Cr Bradford said in a relatively short time the campus had become an enormous asset to the City of Casey.
He said during its first decade, the university site had been transformed from an airfield to an important modern education facility that now offered courses in arts, business and economics, and information technology to nearly 2000 students.
“The City of Casey has the largest population of young people of any municipality in Victoria and, with one of the nation’s top universities firmly established in our here, there are outstanding opportunities for tertiary learning,” Cr Bradford said.
“Residents are able to study close to home, and students from across Australia or overseas are attracted to Casey for a prestigious education.”
Cr Bradford said he was confident of the ongoing success of the Berwick campus and wished all its past, present and future students and staff well.
