Five trotters share title lead

WITH three meetings to go in the season, there was a fiveway tie at the head of the leader board for the Warragul trotting Horse of the Year award.
Local stablemates La Venganza and Johnny Veteran have both won two races each this season and headed the list with Cranbourne pair All Action Son and Social Achiever and Kooweerup trotter Pepperell Dancer.
Pepperell Dancer is racing while the rest are spelling and are unlikely to race again at Warragul this season.
Outside the joint leaders, there was a logjam of horses who could all stake their claims to the title.
Drouin mare Shower of Roses, an impressive Moonee Valley winner last Monday, was one point off the lead and likely to compete at remaining Warragul meetings.
On the third tier of points were Mind Dancer, Penny Gal, Savannah Lombo, Jacob Dee, Jasville, Walkabout Syd, Genghis Yankee, Heartlite, Merisun, Numero Uno and Heeza Hudson.
With four points on offer for a win, two for a second and one for a third, the title is still up for grabs.
Remaining race meetings for the season are on Friday, 16 June, Thursday, 13 July and Wednesday, 16 August.
