CITY of Casey mayor Neil Lucas said yesterday there was no substance to rumours the council would be sacked.
Cr Lucas was commenting on fervent gossip that the council would be sacked.
He said the council spent about one per cent of its time in vigorous debate, and the rest of the time its duties were carried out in an excellent manner.
The rumours began when two former councillors and others raised a petition calling for the council to be dismissed.
