GEMBROOKCockatoo juniors produced a big win over South Belgrave last week.

UNDER 14

Seven goals by Ashley Ladd in the first half helped set up a memorable win over South Belgrave. The young Brookers worked together and kicked another 11 goals in the last half. Because of the gutsy efforts of every player, the Brookers managed to win by 17 goals.

UNDER 13

Against Emerald Gembrook kicked four goals in the first quarter, which set up the young Brookers for a good win. Callum Thoms, Damien Volta, Jake Morris and Marcus Cooper controlled the centre and Tom Bugg and Brody Stephenson did well up forward. A big bonus came from moving Jake Morris to full forward, resulting in three goals.

Gembrook had a good team win through more determination from everyone after quartertime.

UNDER 11

The Brookers had a great first quarter and matched Emerald on the scoreboard. They maintained pressure the second and third quarters but ran out of legs in the last. Despite the loss the team was almost back to its best.

Every player in the Gembrook team tried their hardest but needs to understand manning up. A lot of our smaller and younger players continue to improve each week, running and going for the ball. South Belgrave went on to a good win.
