BERWICK Junior Football Club’s under14 team played at home against a tough Mossgiel Park and won by 11 points at the weekend.
Berwick led at quarter time by five points and then controlled the next two quarters, increasing the lead to 36 points.
The last quarter proved a real test for Berwick, with Mossgiel Park out to make amends for a poor first three quarters.
Six goals to two saw Berwick’s lead cut to 11 points and it finished the game with 17 players due to injury but held on to win well.

A bad day for Berwick.
The defence played well and limited the damage and there were few winners on the day in Allan Mansell, Kyle Turnbull, Mitchell McGill, Kevin De Waal and Ben Gibb.

Berwick started well with the first goal kicked by captian Nick Hillard and two more in the first quarter. The backline was led well by Daniel Thomas and defended superbly and kept the opposition goalless in the final term.
