PAKENHAM Golf Club champion Mick McManus continued his excellent form by taking out the title for the second year in a row on Saturday.
The championships were held over the past three Saturdays and Mick (handicap two) shot rounds of 73, 75, 77 for his winning total of 225.
The Bgrade champion was Paul Hobson with a total of 253 and Mike McKenna was the Cgrade champion with a score of 272.
Marc Merigan won the Dgrade championship with 302 and the veterans’ champion was Stan Gilbert with 268.
Tym Davey is the junior champion.
The championships were sponsored by Rawdon Hills Constructions.
SATURDAY RESULTS
Hugh Westmorland was the winner of the day competition with 67 with the Agrade winner being Mark Hatton 68 and C grade went to Barry Wood with 71.

The Hungry Jack’s 14th hole went to Michael Hildebrand and the Pakenham Pizza 16th to Brian Delaney.
The B.M.R. Autos second shot on the sixth went to Paul Hobson.
The B.M.R. Autos longest drive in A grade was won by Mick McManus and B grade went to Michael Hildebrand.
Marc Merigan was the winner of the McIntyre Painting Cgrade longest drive.
Raffle winners were Gary Brand and Clint Raven.
COMING EVENTS
This week is a Stableford round and the qualifying round for the Foundation for Young Australians.
The winner will play with the Pakenham ladies winner in the district playoff at Churchill/Monash on 16 July.
The following week is the July monthly medal sponsored by B & M Builders (Brian and Maree Delaney) and in conjunction with this round the ANZ Blue Week is being promoted.
MEN’S PENNANT
Due to the wash out of all pennant matches on 7 May, a couple of doubleheaders were played last Sunday.
Division one played Mirboo North at Drouin and came in the winners 6/1. A good start to the season.
Division two played at Garfield against Moe and Drouin and lost both games.
Division three played Morwell at Traralgon and had a great win 6/1.
Division four played at Warragul against Moe in the morning and came in with a win of 5/2 and then played Drouin in the afternoon and came in with another win of 5/2.

MONDAY RESULTS
There was no play for members due to the West Gippsland Ladies Pennant being played at Pakenham.
It will be back to normal Monday competitions from this week.
WEDNESDAY RESULTS
It was summery day and good scores made the day for 62 members playing in the Stableford competition.
Harri Capobus was the winner with a score of 41 from Scott Milnes with 38.
Downtheline balls went to Patrick Duane 37, Doug Booth 37, Bert Burniston 36, Peter Wigney 35, Jon Roberts 35, Rod Cameron 35 and Dan Cameron 35.
Nearestthepin prizes came in pairs with Alex Green taking out both the second and eighth holes and Dan Cameron the 14th and 16th.
VALE GEORGE WINTER
The club sends its sympathies to the Winter family on the sad passing of George at the weekend.
He played golf regularly at Pakenham for many years and will be missed by the members.
SUNDAY RESULTS
Twenty players took part in the ball competition with the winner being Peter Blackwell with 41 from Neil Mani with 39.
LADIES
On Thursday, 18 May, Pakenham ladies played in the first round of the championships in perfect weather.
The day event winner was Faye Leighton with 73 nett.
The next best division score came from division one with Marg Jackson coming in with 74 nett.
The divisiontwo winner was Lyn Murray with 75 nett. Norah Gasgard won the putting with 26 on a countback.
Nearest the pin on the second hole went to Marg Jackson and the eighth hole to Jan Creagh. Faye Leighton was the winner on the 14th hole.
Downtheline balls went to Maria Warburton 77, Adele Mahoney 77, Libby De Hey 78, Shirley Roberts 78, Jan Creagh 80, Kay Jones 80 and Loretta Stewart 80.
The ball competition winner was Irene Walker with 33 on a countback with the down the line going to Lyn Avent.
LADIES PENNANT
Division two defeated Yallourn on Monday.
Jean, Liz, Marg and David were thanked for helping host the division four and five visitors at Pakenham last Monday.
FAREWELL PARTY
A farewell party will be held at Pakenham Golf Club on 3 June for Graeme and Diane Boyd who are moving to Cobram.
The function starts at 8 pm and ladies are asked to bring a plate. Everyone is welcome.
