NAR Nar Goon Netball Club’s Agrade team played a strong game to down Longwarry at home by 51 goals on Saturday.
There was great accuracy in goals by Meg Evans and Sam Cox.
Defensively it was a team effort with plenty of pressure applied over the entire court. Passing was fast, strong and accurate and all players contributed to the win.

B GRADE
A poor first quarter by Nar Nar Goon was costly for the team that found it hard to make up an eightgoal deficit.
Despite winning the next two quarters, the twogoal deficit at threequarter time remained the difference at the end.
There were some great passages of play and Rebecca Murphy and Mel Van Diemen combined well in goals.
The number of unforced errors proved costly for The Goon.

C GRADE
The Goon played an excellent game against the top team.
Casa Fry and Deanna Gallasch combined well in goals. Leara Keysers and Rebecca Pimm created many turnovers and were well supported by Kate Marquis, Bianca Bow and Kirtsy Wallace.
Caitlyn Davey and Stacey Diston put in a 100 per cent when they came on.

17 AND UNDER
The Goon girls came back after last week’s first loss for the season for a strong win over Longwarry.
Prue Evans, Sinead Scanlon and Taryn Salisbury rotated in goals, scoring strongly throughout the game.
Gwen Jones was strong in centre with Sarah Van Boxtel passing well into the ring. The defenders were strong during the game creating many turnovers. Chantelle Joosten was strong in goalkeeper and Mirae Payroli in goal defence took many intercepts to take out best on court.

15 AND UNDER
Nar Nar Goon faced a strong Longwarry team and rose to the challenge well.
The Goon was forced to adapt when Jenna Noonan went down in the first quarter, but Ruby Riley came on at wing attack and played a strong game.
Kelsey Herbert did well in her first game at the Goon taking some good grabs. Best on court went to Jodie Van Boxtel for her many great intercepts at wing defence.

13 AND UNDER
Nar Nar Goon faced tough opposition and played hard all day.
Hannah Rice scored some excellent goals and Bridgette Scott created many turnovers in defence.
The girls were impressive in coming back to win the game in the last quarter.
