Pakenham golfers ‘crack an egg’

IT was an innovation at Pakenham Golf Club on Saturday when ‘egg ball’ was played for the first time.
‘Egg ball’ is a team game played in conjunction with an individual Stableford round with a specially marked ball that is played by a different player of the team on each hole.
If the ball is lost, the team event ceases and the individual Stableford round continues.
It was an interesting round with some balls finishing in dams; some lost in the rough and even one up a tree.
However some teams did get their ball to the end of the round with the winners being Matt Yusoff, John Van Hoorn and Stephen Mann, coming in with 43 points.
The individual event was won by Travis Fossey with 39 points, with the A grade going to Rob Sandiford 36 and B grade to Neil De Silva with 38.
Down the lines went to John Van Hoorn 38, Brian Bateup 38, Andrew Trivett 37, Ron Horme 37, Michael Davey 37, John Goodchild 37, Rod Park 36, Scott Milnes 36, Stojko Kresojevic 36, Noel Boyd 36, Tony Smith 35, Ken McIntyre 35, Stephen Mann 35, Maurice Rossetti 35, Bob Collins 35, Ross Stewart 35 and Trevor Chivers 35.
Nearest the pins saw Dan Cameron take out the golf shop second hole.
The Dante’s Woodfired Pizza eighth hole was won by Grant Emmott, the Hungry Jack’s 14th hole went to Stojko Kresojevic and the Pakenham Pizza 16th hole saw Martin O’Hare the winner.
The B.M.R. Autos second shot on the sixth hole went to Colin MacLean.
The B.M.R. Autos Agrade longest drive went to David Horne and the Bgrade longest drive saw Geoff Percival the winner.
The McIntyre Painting Cgrade longest drive went to Travis Fossey.
Raffle winners were Grant Emmott and Matt Yusoff.
This week is the July monthly medal sponsored by Peet & Co, followed by a Stableford event.
