IN RESPONSE to letter to the editor (Gazette, 13 November) “Officer’s Sad Day”.
Oh yes indeed it is a very sad day for Officer when a handful of people think they speak for all residents of Officer.
Officer is now made up of many new estates and businesses, Potters Grove, Timbertop, Arena and Aspect which represents hundreds upon hundreds of new homes and families with many more to be built in the coming years.
The new Officer Post Office now has world-class facilities, is well laid out with plenty of light and space, parking is not restricted and is much safer to access, unlike the previous post office.
Initiatives are underway to provide street deliveries to the rapidly expanding Officer community. There also has been a case put forward to Australia Post to relocate a letterbox along the service road on old Princes Highway for daily pick-ups. Mr Scanlon stated 98 per cent of residents are very happy with the new post office, a overwhelming response one would think.
Again thankyou Mr Scanlon and his staff for bringing Officer into the 21st century.
Don’t allow emotions to get in the road of the real facts!
Andrew McNabb,
Officer.
