AS A ratepayer whose rates have doubled in the last three years, it seems something is wrong when we have Councillors Ross and Lempriere grandstanding on issue of rate rises and no funding for the arts.
Maybe if Cr Ross had not spent thousands of dollars of ratepayer money on obtaining a “Diploma of Business Management “ at Swinburne, ratepayers just might believe he is sincere when he votes against rate rises.
Now we have Cr Lempiere grandstanding over a decision not to financially support the “Cardinia Grand Art Exhibition”. Maybe if Cr Lempriere had not spent $6,900 of ratepayers money on a “Directors Course” she could have redirected the money into the arts.
No wonder ratepayers lack respect for councillors – they have every reason to do so.
