Garden expo makes ground

FRIENDS of Wilson Botanic Park have started preparation of the park for the Garden Expo 05 on Saturday and Sunday 22 and 23 October.
Friends’ group vicepresident and expo coordinator Derek Garton said response to the expo was excellent.
Mr Garton said the sites were all positioned around twothirds of the central anniversary lake.
He said it was hard to imagine a better venue in which to display and sell the tools, equipment, trees, plants, outdoor furniture, gazebos and water features that would be on show.
“Garden Expo 05 is a volunteer Friends of Wilson Botanic Park initiative designed to increase the usage of the unique public facility,” Mr Garton said.
“The expo will show many new and established gardeners the latest in garden equipment and flora. Proceeds from the expo will go towards further development of the park.”
