Blues fade out

CATANI had a major final quarter fadeout last week, going down at Bunyip by 62 points.
The Blues had started the game fairly well and got to an early lead after Luke McFarlane kicked three firstquarter goals. Catani continued to show the way early in the second term and built a fivegoal advantage before the Blues seemed to go to sleep as Bunyip came back at them to narrow the gap at halftime.
The third term was a close contest as goals were scored at both ends until a couple of late goals gave the Blues the advantage and seemingly the momentum for the final term. But it was Bunyip who came out to play in the final quarter as Catani was completely outplayed and overrun.
Scores: Bunyip 25.16.166 d Catani 16.8.104.
Best: Andrew Stockx, Troy Wilson, John Entwisle, Josh Tymensen, Owen Fitzpatrick, Luke Tymensen.

RESERVES

After leading all game, the Blues were overhauled in the final term to go down by six points. It was a fair effort by the Blues, who showed they could match the top teams, but also disappointing as they could not manage to hold on after playing so well. The club congratulated Adrian Hall on playing his 100th game for the club.
Scores: Bunyip 7.9.51 d Catani 7.3.45.
Best: Antonio Benvenuto, Graeme Dyall, Tim Grant, Ryan Kitchin, Darren Hughes.

UNDER 17

The Blues did not handle the slippery conditions at Bunyip well and went down by three goals. Daniel Kitchin played well all day, whether on the ball or up forward. Mark Cardamone also had a great game at centre halfback in repelling many attacks. Phillip Strahan worked hard all day, other good players being Anderson Edwards, Jay Withers, Nathaniel Wade, Michael Pendlebury, Jarrod Milner and Chris Power.
Scores: Bunyip 6.4.40 d Catani 3.3.21.

UNDER 15

Catani was no match for the top side Bunyip, but was not disgraced in being defeated by 48 points. It was good to see that a few of the under 13s players doing well in the older age group and being among the best players.
Score: Bunyip 8.9.57 d Catani 1.3.9.
Best: Luke Failla, Tom Hance, Jamie Evans, Troy Lehman, James Canty, Andrew Sabbatucci.

UNDER 13

Catani continued on its way, recording a good 43point win at Bunyip. Bunyip had taken the game up to the young Blues in the first term, but after quartertime Catani lifted and played its best football for the year. Christopher Marson put in a great game to dominate play and Lindon Barry did well at full forward, the whole team putting in a fine performance.
Scores: Catani 8.4.52 d Bunyip 1.3.9.
Best: Christopher Marson, Adam Burns, Cody Banbury, Lindon Barry, Taylor Stafford, Brent Youssef.
