McArdle wins trainers’ title

PAKENHAM Racing Club’s 200506 premierships have been finalised with the trainers’ award being decided on a countback.
The award, sponsored by Cremin Frank Facey, went to Mornington trainer John McArdle, who beat Cranbourne mentor Colin Alderson.
The flat course jockeys’ title was won by Michelle Payne while Nathan Dunn won the jumps jockeys’ premiership.
Pakenham’s next meeting will be the club’s annual Super Jumps day and Equine Expo on Sunday, 10 September.
The program will be headlined by one of the club’s signature events, the $25,000 M.J. Bourke Hurdle, together with the $40,000 Rookie Chasers Final.
As part of the expo, the club will showcase industry experts across a range of activities including farrier demonstrations, horse dentistry, equine massage and acupuncture.
There will also be a session on equine nutrition and other interesting subjects.
The expo will feature a variety of stalls displaying and selling all types of equinerelated products and it promises to be a great day for anyone involved in the horse industry.
