Tooradin downs Cranbourne

TOORADIN’S Agrade clash with Cranbourne ended in a win for the Seagulls.
The game was an intense encounter from the outset with Tooradin being the first to settle with the majority of turnovers going their way. The goalers found the going tough early in the piece but managed to brush off the nerves to find the middle of the ring. Tooradin led at the first break with thanks to the skill and class of Stacey McConnell on the defensive wing and Rachel Splatt in goal defence force their opponent to lead long and throwing the ball out of court.
The second term was all Tooradin with the stalwart in the last line of defence, Michelle Barnes’ sheer determination and will to deny Cranbourne easy passage to their goalers. Shona Wells played her typically solid midcourt game to link the defence to the attacking end of the court.
In the third quarter Tooradin allowed Cranbourne to score quickly but Keren Van Der Heyden stepped up in the goal ring and lifted the spirits of the side.
In the last term Kate Lynch outplayed her opposition in the goal ring and shot with unequivocal confidence to see her side to a ninegoal victory.
Scores: Tooradin 30 d Cranbourne 21.
Awards: Rimfire Glass Stacey McConnell, Financial Services Michelle Barnes,
Most Damaging Stacey McConnell.
