Berwick shows top form

AFTER a twoweek break Berwick Netball Club’s Agrade team took time to settle before combining well and showing top form for a 10goal win against Narre Warren on Saturday.
Lenyss Tedia played well at centre and goal attack. Vanessa San Jose was strong at goal shooter and Sue Roberts demonstrated her capable defence skills.
Sharon Neary gave great strength and drive and Lisa Cotela fed well into the goal circle.
Chrissy Patterson and Bernadette Diamond added extra drive through the midcourt, while Jodie Cranston rebounded strongly and Michelle MansonBlair played a consistent game.
Scores: Berwick 52 d Narre Warren 42.
Best: Sue Roberts.

B GRADE

In an excellent team performance Berwick defeated Narre Warren by 32 goals.
Kelly Bateman played an exceptional game in centre, while Belinda Walshe, Sharon Bahn and Virginia Hester shared the workload well in goals.
Jenny Randle and Jess Monahan were strong in defence all game, supported well by Belinda Hester at wing defence.
Scores: Berwick 68 d Narre Warren 35.
Best: Belinda Walshe.

C GRADE

In cold, wintry conditions Berwick had to fight hard for an eightgoal win against Narre Warren.
With both goalers unavailable, Tina Pratt and Alyce Shearman from the 15andunder team stepped up into the goal ring.
Rebecca Stanelt, Alana Cary and Chloe Moss intercepted many passes in the defensive third.
Amy Taputu and Sharon McCormick brought the ball down the centre into the shooters who converted well.
Scores: Berwick 30 d Narre Warren 22.
Best: Sharon Livesey.

15 AND UNDER

Berwick combined well for a strong 25goal win against Narre Warren.
Melissa McCormick and Brianna Moss created strong drives through the midcourt and passed well into the goal ring and Emma Clarke played an impressive game in goals.
Scores: Berwick 35 d Narre Warren 12.

13 AND UNDER

A strong game by Berwick that defeated Narre Warren by five goals.
The versatile Emily Pratt filled in at goal defence for an injured Stefani Hompot and with the help of Jessica Masters and Megan Dyker caused many defensive turnovers.
It was an excellent first game from young development players Courtney Phelps and Emily Stevens.
