Casey’s infant immunisation schedule will offer 16 sessions in a month, made up of 11 day sessions and five evening sessions.
Vaccines are available for Hepatitis B, Adult Diphtheria Tetanus, Comvax, Polio, Meningococcal C, Pneumococcal and more.
Casey community safety manager Brendan Fitzsimmons said immunisation was the best way of preventing and controlling disease in children. Modern vaccines provided high levels of protection against several diseases and were a cornerstone of child health.
“Immunisation has prevented more suffering and saved more lives than any other medical intervention this century,” said Mr Fitzsimmons. The council has designed the 2006 schedule to ensure all parents of children in the municipality can have their child immunised during the year.
Immunisation sessions will be held at Endeavour Hills Leisure Centre; Doveton Learning Centre; Narre Warren Library; Brentswood Park Community Centre, Berwick South; Oakgrove Community Centre, Narre Warren South; Cranbourne Library; Hampton Park Community Hall; Rossmoyne Family Resource Centre, Berwick; Pearcedale Maternal and Child Health Centre; Old Shire Offices, Cranbourne; and Council Chambers, Fountain Gate.
