New committee elected

PAKENHAM Seniors’ annual general meeting was held on Monday and the following officebearers and committee were elected.
President Allan Robinson; vicepresident Ron Dyker; secretary Marj Smith; treasurer Marie Sack; assistant treasurer Martha Walgers; social secretary Jill Kidd and committee members Doris Barker, Lorraine Cooke, Lorraine Davis, Alma Dyker, Betty Koopman, John Leo and Johanna Stewart.
Thanks to councillor Bill Ronald who chaired the election. The new president presented outgoing president Ron Dyker with life membership.
Janet Macreadie resigned from the committee after 18 years of service. She served terms as president, vicepresident, secretary and social secretary as well as a committee member.
Members having birthdays this week are Lilian Wright, Don Mario, Betty Koopman, John Green, Dorothy Smith, Mary Wall, Norma Beechey, Reginald Wray, Peter Murphy, Dorothy Saunders, Pam Field and Alma Dyker.
On the sick list are Audrey Halford, Kath Boxall. Best wishes to all of them for a speedy recovery.
Coming events: Sunday, 31 July benefit concert for SES at 2pm. All welcome, entry by donation; 1 August hoy at 1.30pm; 3 August music morning; 11 August bingo.
Little Tatts was won by June Murphy, Lena Maitland, Shirley Stewart and Betty Woodberry.
Door prizes were won by Marj Smith and Edith Bell.
The raffle was won by Sheila Howell.
