BERWICK RSL was noted as a successful RSL branch when it was allocated grant money to redevelop facilities. Four Oaks Ward councillor Rob Wilson made the comment to the Tuesday 18 July council meeting when pursuing financial support for a war memorial at Endeavour Hills. He said it was now time for the Endeavour Hills project to receive support.
A report before the council said the next stage of building the memorial at Endeavour Hills would cost $20,000 for steps and pavements.
Cr Wilson successfully asked that the council consider dollarfordollar funding that may be available through the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Victorian Communities program.
He also moved that the Dandenong RSL be asked to provide financial support for the memorial.
